Privacy
Your details, handled properly.
A property assessment involves your address and how to reach you. Here is exactly what we do with that, in plain English.
This policy covers satelliteinstallers.nz, operated by The Switchboard, an independent New Zealand business ("we", "us"). Questions, corrections and deletion requests: hello@satelliteinstallers.nz. We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
When you check your property, we collect what you type into the form: your property address, region, property type, where you are at with your Starlink order, job details you choose to add, and your name, phone number and email address. Our systems also record standard technical information needed to run the service, such as the time of your request.
Why we collect it
One purpose: assessing your property and connecting you with a professional installer. Your address is used to generate your property brief (location, terrain and modelled wind history, nearby installer distance). Your contact details exist so an installer can reach you about your job. We do not sell personal information, rent lists, or send marketing you did not ask for.
Who sees it
- A participating installer, where our matching service is live in your region: they receive your brief and contact details to discuss your job, and nothing more.
- Our service providers: the site runs on Cloudflare infrastructure, and generating your brief sends your property coordinates (never your name or contact details) to mapping, terrain and weather data services.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
Your property brief
Each brief lives at a private link with an unguessable address, marked so search engines do not index it, and the link expires automatically 90 days after generation. Do not share the link publicly if you consider your address sensitive.
How long we keep it
Property briefs expire automatically 90 days after generation, and the stored brief is deleted with them. Enquiry records are kept for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, then deleted. Email us any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted sooner; we action deletion requests promptly.
Cookies and analytics
The site currently runs no advertising and no third-party tracking cookies. If we add basic analytics to understand how the service is used, this policy will be updated first.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with the change date. Material changes to how your information is used will be notified to affected people directly.
